  L'Express is my wife's favorite Montreal restaurant and now it's probably mine as well.
  
  Service here is efficient and polite.
  
  The place is super busy but the ambience is very low key and has an old fashioned French feel to it. I love that there's a large palmed potted plant in the middle of the room.
  
  The food is excellent right from the start with the great French bread and butter, along with the mini pickles in a huge jar, that the waiters bring to each table. For appetizers we tried the raw oysters and shrimp cocktail- both of which were tasty. And for my main I really enjoyed the Toulouse sausages in gravy with fries.

  The food, atmosphere and service were all absolutely exquisite! High praise for the duck legs and lentil octopus salad. But honestly I can't imagine anything on the menu not being delicious.

  Great quality Québécois food. I had steak and chips, and the beef was tender and so delicious. Definitely worth a visit while you travel to Montreal.

  I came here a few years ago and had such great memories of L'Express that we had to go back during our Montreal visit. The service is great and the atmosphere is as lovely as I remembered it. My ravioli where too salty and the oily sauce took over any existing flavor in the ravioli. The steak didn't taste that great either. The suggested wine pairing was really good. Not sure if we go back.

  Wow! This was recommended by a friend that lived in Toronto for a while. Dined here with a colleague from Paris that said the decor and food was very reminiscent of Paris!
  
  Place is always packed so call ahead for reservations. You'd be spending about 30$+ per person
  
  I'd say that the food was amazing!! I had the hanger steak with shallot butter and fries...I have nothing to compare it to other than steaks... but my god it's well cooked obviously eat it medium. Not a lot of places carry this type of meat.
  
  Also I had the pistachio crime brûlée! I've had so many creme brulees in Paris and this one beats them all! My goodness the creamy texture was just amazing! Every teaspoon was something to savour.
  
  If you wanna impress your guests bring them here!
