  It's the kind of place you would definitely go to once for the smoked meat sandwich, to tick it off your list. It's a simple sandwich - mustard and beef with white bread. But the meat is done beautifully. The quantity be a bit overwhelming though, and the taste could get monotonous. The fries are okay, nothing great. It's a small deli and does not serve alcohol. Staff is very friendly. Definitely try it once if you're in Montreal!

  The smoked meat here is so much better than I've tried anywhere else. Sat at the counter and had a great talk with the friendly server. We let him order too much food for us, and paid for it, but it was all part of the experience. If you are on a budget, avoid the sides, or share them. The coleslaw and the fries are big enough for two servings each, especially with the huge amount of meat in the sandwiches.

  One of Montreal's food institutions is Schwartz's. Now, there are loads of places where you can get smoke meat. Is Schwartz's one of them?
  Undeniably so. It is one of those spots you MUST try when in Montreal. At the very least so you can say, you've eaten there. The smoked meat is delicious. Do they know it?
  YES, they know it's great. There's a bit of a pretentious air with the staff (or is it simply they don't really care about being friendly and over attentive?). They don't care if you come back, they know others will take your place so it become some sort of machine pulling and pushing people in. Now, I did say their smoked meat is delicious. Can anyone find similar elsewhere? I'd dare say ABSOLUTELY. Take time to research. The smoked meat aficionados I spoke with would tend to say the same thing.
  There are lines I'd join in to eat in Montreal's food scene, especially if you love Smoked meat. Schwartz's is one of those you would want to do at least once.

  Would I come back: If I was craving a smoked meat sandwich again - yes!
  
  Value: A bit expensive for a sandwich but the meat was really fresh and tasted good.
  
  The Good: Servers were really friendly and service was quick.
  
  The Bad: More my own preference as I don't love mustard. Even so, I enjoyed the sandwich.
  
  Bath/Rest/Wash-rooms: Small, busy but clean.
